Testa Rossa X Paris Plaits Filly
3 year old Bay Filly
Sire: Testa Rossa Dam: Paris Plaits
Join us to race this well bred filly by the super sire Testa Rossa. One of the best gallopers of his era, the tough and talented Testa Rossa amassed over $3 million during a 28 start career that saw him win 13 races - six of those (Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes twice, VRC Sires' Produce Stakes, Futurity Stakes, Emirates Stakes, Lighting Stakes) at Group One level.
Such top class racehorses do not always end up success stories at stud but Testa Rossa is just that... one of the country's most reliable stallions boasting a simply outstanding winners-to-runners strike rate in excess of 73%.
His black-type figures are also impressive, 6.6% of Testa Rossa's runners being stakes winner. He boasts progeny earnings of over $71 million with his average runner earning over $81,000.
Testa Rossa has done a great job siring 57 individual stakes winners including the Group One winners Ortensia (who represented Australia on the world stage), Testafiable and Rostova.
Another of his talented gallopers is Bond Street, winner of the Listed Hareeba Stakes and trained by Rick!
Seven of Testa Rossa's stakes winners have been line-bred to Northern Dancer's great son Danzig as is this filly who boasts a 3 X 4 cross with her dam being by one of Danehill's best, the Golden Slipper winner Flying Spur.
Testa Rossa has fared very well with Flying Spur mares, out of them siring the Group Three winners Speediness and Heart Testa.
As well as the three times Group placed multiple city winner Flying Tessie, full sister to this exciting filly.
Metropolitan mares make great broodmares and this filly's dam Paris Plaits is a dual city winner who has already proven her worth at stud with five of her six foals to race being winners... three of those at metropolitan level... Flying Hussler (also winner of the Benalla Cup) and Left Bank Hustler the other two.
Paris Plaits' dam Amaranth also boasts a terrific strike rate with six of her seven to race being winners including the stakes placed multiple city winner Arrowsweep. And her dam, the American two times Group Three winner Lucky Spell was also an excellent broodmare - represented by eight winners including the stakes winners Merlins Charm and Goldspell, both mares who themselves have produced stakes winners.
There is depth to this filly's pedigree with three Northern Dancer strains (plus an extra of his dam Natalma, also third dam of Danehill) supported by background duplications of the influential mares Natalma, La Troienne, Lady Juror, Banshee and Frizette. Please call or email for more info.
